Honestly, when Shark Tank was coming to India, I was not expecting that it would become as big a thing as it is today. It is transforming India. and I fell in love with the show. I have watched every single episode of both seasons of The Shark Tank. and started the same thing with season 3.
One of the main reasons behind the success of this show is the sharks and the way they communicate with the pitcher in an interesting format. The first season of Shark Tank killed it. Indian audiences loved the format and entertaining way of learning complex business concepts from founders of big giant companies.
But somewhere, Ashneer Grover’s exclusion from season 2 hit the popularity of the show. But Shark Tank now coming up with the solution to the damage that happened to season 2 with brand new Judges. and so far people are loving it again.

1. Ritesh Agarwal
I won’t agree if you will say I don’t know who is Ritesh Agarwal. Everyone knows Ritesh Agarwal all across India. The reason is he is known as one of the youngest billionaires in India. and also his company Oyo is very well known all across India. He is named in the list of richest people in India. No matter which Indian city live in, you will see OYO rooms there. Ritesh is the Founder & CEO of OYO Rooms.
He is from Raigad District of Odisha. He was born on 16 November 1993 in the Marwari family in Bisam Cuttack, Odisha. His father wanted him to become an IIT engineer. Ritesh Agarwal comes from a very humble background. This boy who used to sell SIM cards in Delhi is a billionaire today.
He went to the city of Delhi for his education. He is a college dropout. Ritesh was interested in business from the very beginning. Ritesh started a company named Oravel Stays in 2011. It was later renamed to Oyo Rooms. In 2013, he was selected for a Thiel Fellowship. During these two years, he received one lakh dollars. Ritesh got funding of millions of dollars for his company from Lightspeed venture partners, DSG consumer partners, Sequoia Capital, and Greenoaks capital partners. Today Oyo Rooms has more than 800 branches in 80 countries. OYO Room is currently priced at Rs 80 thousand crores.
In 2020, Ritesh Agarwal became one of the youngest billionaires in the world. And today he is seen as one of the youngest sharks in the program Shark Tank India.
2. Deepinder Goyal
Everyone is very familiar with Zomato. This name is known in every household because this app can be found on everyone’s mobile phone today. Deepinder Goyal is the founder and CEO of Zomato. He was born on 26 January 1983 in Mukatsar, Punjab, India. He is now 41 years old as of 2024.
He completed his graduation at IIT Delhi. After completing his education in 2006, he started working in management consulting company Bain & Company. It was here that he came up with an idea after seeing his colleagues standing in long queues for the cafeteria menu cards during lunchtime during his employment. He scanned the menu cards and uploaded them to the site, and this is where he came up with the idea for his business. They decided to create a website and mobile app, where people can easily access all the information related to the best restaurants in their city.
While working in 2008, Dipendar and Pankaj Chadda started foodiebay.com, an online food portal, and their business grew. Deepinder and Pankaj quit their jobs and started expanding it and converted it to Zomato on 18 January 2010. Today Zomato provides services in 24 countries. Zomato share has a market capitalization of Rs 1,25,524cr. Today we are seeing the transformation of a small idea in the form of Deepender Goyal’s Zomato.
3. Azhar Iqubal
Azhar Iqubal is a co-founder and CEO of Inshorts app. Azhar Iqubal was born on 18 January 1992 in Aligarh, Bihar. Azhar along with 2 friends Deepit Purkayastha and Anunay Pandey started a Facebook page called ‘News in Short’. In which lengthy news was written in three to four lines. Its popularity started to increase a lot and in 2013 the company got a good boost due to funding of 10 lakhs. In 2015, the app was named ‘Inshorts’.
Inshorts today has a funding of around 165 million US dollars, ( Indian rupees 1374 crores ). The valuation of the company is 550 million American dollars which is equal to 4580 crore Indian rupees. Along with this, Azar started another company in 2019 which is Public. This is also a social app.
He is a very inspiring entrepreneur and also a very good human being.
4. Radhika Gupta
Radhika Gupta is the MD and CEO of Edelweiss AMC, a financial services company. She was born on 14 September 1983 in Islamabad Pakistan. it’s become a very famous question why was Radhika Gupta born in Pakistan? the answer is her father was a diplomat, and at that time he was serving in Pakistan.
Radhika had to struggle from the very beginning. She crooked her neck due to some complications during her birth. and also her Indian accent made her face ridicule from everyone in her school days. Even after going to college, she had to face so many difficulties.
Radhika, who faced rejection in interviews as many as seven times, even thought of suicide. Radhika contemplated suicide at the age of 22 and became the CEO of a multi-crore company at the age of 33. Her story is looking like a movie script.
At the age of twenty-five, she decided to start her property management firm with her husband and a friend. She started his own company which was later acquired by Edelweiss Mutual Fund. 5. Varun Dua
Varun Dua is a co-founder and CEO of ‘Acko General Insurance’ company. He was born in 1981 in India. He is a resident of Bengaluru, Karnataka. Varun completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Mumbai. He completed a master’s in strategic marketing and communication. Acko is a company that offers motor, health, and other insurance products across 16 cities, covering over 2 million vehicles. Varun Dua’s estimated net worth is Rs 107 Crores.

6. Ronnie Screwvala
Ronnie Screwvala is also a new shark of Shark Tank India of season 3. He is an Indian entrepreneur and film producer. He has not only left an indelible mark on the film industry but has ventured into diverse domains. Ronnie Screwvala was born on 8 September 1962 in Mumbai. Ronnie Screwvala has also struggled a lot in his life. There was a time when they sold toothbrushes. Not only this, he also had a cable TV network business. In 1990 he started ‘UTV communication’ named company. His total wealth is 12 thousand 800 i.e. 1.5 billion dollars. The man who started selling toothbrushes is now known as Bollywood’s richest producer.
