Radhika Gupta is the CEO and MD of Edelweiss Mutual Fund Company. At the age of just 33, she became the youngest CEO of the company. She was born on 14 September 1983 in the Indian consulate, Islamabad, Pakistan. Her father Yogesh Gupta was an IFS officer and her mother Aarti Gupta was a teacher.
She also has a brother named Anubhav Gupta. Since her father was a diplomat, he was transferred every three years, so her schooling was done in different places like India, Pakistan, America, and Nigeria. She received her BSC computer science engineering degree from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and she completed her BSC (Economics) under The Jerome Fisher Program In Management and Technology. Career life of Radhika Gupta
Radhika faced many problems in her life. Especially because of her physical defects. During her schooling in other countries, she was humiliated many times because of her crooked neck and Indian accent. She was doing a part-time job while studying in college. She faced several rejections while getting a job after completing college. Radhika Gupta in an interview said that she was rejected from interviews seven times due to which she completely lost her confidence and even attempted suicide. In 2004, she worked as an Intern in the software company Microsoft.
In 2005, she got a job at the American firm McKinney & Company where she worked as a business analyst till 2006. From 2006 to 2009, she worked with AQR Capital Management as a portfolio manager. Then she decided to come to India and at the age of 25 decided to start her property management firm with her husband and a friend.
She started her own company, which was later acquired by Edelweiss Mutual Fund. After that, when Edelweiss Company was looking for a CEO, Radhika Gupta applied for the CEO position with the encouragement of her husband, and a few months later, Edelweiss Company selected Radhika Gupta as the CEO.
