He completed his bachelor’s education at R. A . Podar College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai and he took a master’s degree in Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
His father Chander Mohan Dua was a government employee and his mother was a school teacher. He has a younger brother named Kartik Dua. Varun Dua has worked hard to make his company super successful. It was very difficult for them to start this company. Gaining people’s trust in this is very difficult but Varun did it.
Career life of Varun Dua
While Varun was in school, he was a smart boy from the beginning. After completing his education, in 2002, Varun joined Leo Burnett Advertising in Mumbai. But he worked there for less than a year. After that, he got an opportunity to work at Tata AIG Life Insurance Company. So in 2003, he started working there as a Marketing Manager. He worked there for 4 years.
After that, in 2007, he once again worked as a marketing manager at Franklin Templeton Investment for almost a year. Varun wanted to start his startup. After leaving his job at Franklin Templeton Investment, Varun took a break from his career and decided to merge with insurance sector IT after discussing with Devendra Rane whom he met at the same time, and in 2010 he co-founded Glitterbug Technologies. In 2013, it transformed into an online insurance brokerage under the name Coverfox.
He was the CEO of this company. After that, he did not stop there but started a new company in 2016 which is Acko. Acko today provides five types of insurance such as car, bike, health, life, and travel insurance. And it was all online. That’s why Acko is the first digital insurer in the world without any complicated paperwork. Varun Dua faced many challenges while setting up all this. So it is learned from them that while doing something new in life one should face the obstacles with determination.
